THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES

  On August, a new fantastic and adventurous movie, which will make a very strong impression on you , will be released; the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones

       The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is an upcoming 2013 action adventure fantasy film based on the first book of The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. The story takes place in an urban and contemporary New York City. Directed by Harald Zwart, the film stars Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower, Kevin Zegers, Jemima West, Godfrey Gao, Lena Headey, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Aidan Turner, Robert Sheehan, Kevin Durand, and Jared Harris. It is set to be released in theaters on August 21, 2013.

       The main character of this movie is Clary, a shadowhunter. She goes with her best friend Simon Lewis to a nightclub, and witnesses a murder. Even with Simon by her side, Clary seems to be the only actual witness to the crime. At the club she meets shadowhunter Jace Lightwood and is catapulted into a world that has so far been invisible to her. She then discovers that her mother, Jocelyn, has been attacked and taken from their home in New York City by a man named Valentine in his search of an object known as the Mortal Cup.

       She gets in touch with her new friend, Jace, and his step-siblings and fellow shadowhunters, Alec and Isabelle Lightwood, to help her on her quest to rescue her mother. Along the way Clary finds out the truth that her mother had wanted to protect her from, about her past and bloodline and how she, like Jace, Alec and Isabelle, is a shadowhunter, which are half-angel, half-human warriors.

 

 In my opinion, this movie is as wonderful as the Twilight Saga movies.You can watch the trailer at here.

TRAVEL THROUGH GALAXY WITH "SPACE PIRATE CAPTAIN HARLOCK 2013"

       This year, people who are fans of Japan animation can watch this attractive movie, Space Pirate Captain Harlock 2013.

       Space Pirate Captain Harlock is a manga series written and illustrated by Leiji Matsumoto, serialized Akita Shoten's Play Comic from 1977 to 1979. The series was adapted into an animated television series in 1978 directed by Rintaro and produced by Toei Animation. A computer-animated film adaptation of the same name will premiere in 2013.

       The movie’s plot is in 2977: For many years a mighty battle has been raging across the galaxies as 500 billion humans, whose forebears were exiled from Earth, plan to return to what is still called home. Forced to flee a ravaged Earth, humans have now depleted the corners of the galaxy to which they fled. Earth has now become the most valued and precious resource of all, controlled by the corrupt Gaia Coalition which governs the human race across the different galaxies. 

       Having been exiled and vilified during the battle of the Homecoming War, Captain Harlock and his trusted crew of the Arcadia battle cruiser are the only hope mankind has of discovering the secrets that the Gaia have kept hidden. The Coalition has demanded Harlock's death and the Gaia Fleet's new leader, Ezra, calls on his younger brother, Logan, to infiltrate the Arcadia and then assassinate Harlock, thus forever eradicating the one man standing between the Coalition and their complete control of the Universe. MORE FUN WITH "THE SMURFS 2"

       After the success of  “ the smurfs“ movie in catching people’s eyes, Sony Pictures Animation and Columbia Pictures had released “the Smurfs 2”.   

       The Smurfs 2 is a 2013 American 3D family comedy film and a sequel to the 2011 film The Smurfs. It is loosely based on The Smurfs comic-book series created by the Belgian comics artist Peyo. It is the second installment of a projected trilogy, produced by Sony Pictures Animation and distributed by Columbia Pictures.

       Smurfette, a young smurf lady,  is having nightmares about betraying her fellow Smurfs and turning them over to Gargamel to be captured. Meanwhile, the Smurfs are preparing a surprise party for Smurfette's birthday, but as Smurfette tries to find out what her fellow Smurfs are planning, none of them are saying a word. She takes this to mean that she is now unwelcome in the village as a Smurf.

       In Paris, Gargamel is now a star attraction, amazing people with his sorcery, but he sees that he is running low on the Smurf essence that gives him his magic powers. With his new creations, the Naughties Vexy and Hackus, Gargamel plans on opening a portal to the Smurf village by using the Eiffel tower as a conduit so that he can kidnap Smurfette and, through her, get Papa Smurf's secret formula for creating Smurfs. However, as the portal he created isn't big enough for him to go through, Gargamel takes Vexy and sends her through to the portal to grab Smurfette and bring her to Paris...

MONSTER UNIVERSITY

       This summer, fans of Monsters, Inc will definitely be happy due to the appearance of MU, “Monsters university” !

       Monsters University is a 2013 American 3D computer-animated comedy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Dan Scanlon is the director and Kori Rae is the producer. It is the fourteenth film produced by Pixar and the prequel to 2001's Monsters, Inc., marking the first time Pixar has made a prequel.

       The movie’s main character is Michael "Mike" Wazowski, a six-year-old monster, visits Monsters Inc., the most famous scaring company in Monstropolis, on a school field trip. The class meets Frank McCay, an employee of the company who works as a "scarer", entering the human world to scare children at night and harvesting their screams as energy to power the monster world. Fascinated, Mike slips through Frank's door before anyone can stop him, where he watches Frank's scare performance, then follows him back through the door to the monster world. Frank scolds Mike, but is impressed having followed him unnoticed, and gives him his Monsters University hat as a souvenir. Oblivious to his teacher's later admonishments, Mike dreams of being a scarer when he grows up.

       Approximately eleven years later, Mike is a scare major at Monsters University. On his first day, he meets his new roommate, Randall "Randy" Boggs, a nerdy chameleon-like monster. On the first day of class, the strict Dean of the scare program Abigail Hardscrabble informs the students that they must pass their final exam of the semester to continue in the program ...

TURBO 2013

       This summer 2013 again will bring to fans who love cartoon a stunning movie, “Turbo”.

       Turbo is a 2013 American 3D computer-animated sports comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by 20th Century Fox. It is based on an original idea by David Soren, who also directed the film. The film was released on July 17, 2013.

       The movie will be followed by a television series, titled Turbo: F.A.S.T. (Fast Action Stunt Team), which will air on Netflix in December 2013.

       In  Venice, California, Theo, a.k.a Turbo, is a garden snail who dreams of being the greatest racer in the world, just like his hero, 5-time Indianapolis 500 champ, Guy Gagne. His obsession with speed and all things fast has made him an oddity and an outsider in the slow and cautious snail community, and a constant embarrassment to his cautious older brother, Chet. Turbo desperately wishes he could escape the slow-paced life he's living, but his one chance to live proves a near fatal disaster when he tries to recover a prize tomato and needs to be rescued by Chet.

       Demoralized, Theo wanders onto a freeway to admire the traffic and wishes on the very first star (which is actually an airplane light), "I wish...I wish I was fast". Suddenly, he gets into a freak accident when he gets sucked into the supercharger of a drag racer, fusing his DNA with nitrous oxide on a street race. The next day, when Theo wakes up from unconsciousness, his incident the night before finds himself vested with the power of incredible speed and accuracy. Then, the adventure of a strange and incredible snail racer begins.

DESPICABLE ME 2

       This summer again has a lot of "animated movie waves". the most popular watching is Despicable me 2. 

         Despicable Me 2 is a 2013 American 3D computer-animated comedy film and the sequel to the 2010 animated film Despicable Me. Produced by Illumination Entertainment and distributed by Universal Pictures, both films are directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud, and written by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio. Steve Carell, Russell Brand, and Miranda Cosgrove reprise their roles. Kristen Wiig, who played Miss Hattie in the first film, voices agent Lucy Wilde. Ken Jeong, who played the Talk Show Host, voices Floyd Eagle-san. New cast members include Benjamin Bratt as Eduardo (aka El Macho) and Steve Coogan as Silas Ramsbottom, head of the Anti-Villain League (AVL). The film premiered on June 5, 2013 in Australia, and was theatrically released in the United States on July 3, 2013.

         The movie begins with a secret laboratory near the Arctic Circle is stolen by a mysterious vehicle using a giant magnet. The Anti-Villain League (AVL) recruits former super-villain Gru, now a kindly jelly manufacturer, to find out which evil person is about to start using the mutagen PX-41 to produce indestructible and extremely aggressive monsters. Gru and undercover-AVL-agent Lucy must search The Paradise Shopping Mall, where they are given a bakery as their headquarters...

        In my opinion, Despicable me 2 is a very fantastic and jocular animated cartoon. You and your family will definitely have a great time when sitting together and watching this movie at weekend. you can watch the trailer at here.

R.I.P.D

       R.I.P.D. is a 2013 3D American supernatural comedy film directed by Robert Schwentke, based on the comic book Rest in Peace Department by Peter M. Lenkov and published by Dark Horse Entertainment. The film stars Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges as Nick Walker and Roy Pulsipher.

       Boston Police Department Detectives Nick Walker (Ryan Reynolds) and Bobby Hayes (Kevin Bacon) steal a chest full of gold found during a drug bust, and Nick buries his share of the gold in his backyard, intending to use it to create a better life for himself and his wife, Julia (Stephanie Szostak). However, he regrets his decision and informs Hayes he intends to return the gold. Later, during a raid on a warehouse, Nick and Hayes get into a shootout with criminals, and Hayes kills Nick to prevent him from returning the gold, framing one of the criminals for the murder.

       Nick awakens in the office of Mildred Proctor (Mary-Louise Parker), director of the Rest In Peace Department (R.I.P.D.), an agency that recruits deceased police officers to patrol the afterlife and capture "Deados", spirits that refuse to cross over and return to Earth as monstrous ghosts. Nick agrees to join the R.I.P.D. after Proctor promises to help him reunite with Julia and meets his new partner, Roy Pulsipher (Jeff Bridges), an ex-U.S. Marshal who lived in the 1800's.

       Personally, i think R.I.P.D  is a very funny and exciting movie with humorous scenes of two main characters. Watching it  will relax you after a tiring and boring day. You can watch trailer at here.

ELYSIUM

          On August 9, 2013, a new fantastic science fiction movie will be released. That is “ Elysium “ !

          Elysium is an upcoming American science fiction action film written, co-produced and directed by Neill Blomkamp and starring Matt Damon and Jodie Foster. It is scheduled to be released on August 9, 2013 in both conventional and IMAX Digital theaters. Elysium is a co-production of Media Rights Capital and Sony's TriStar Pictures. It also represents TriStar's first big-budget offering since 1998.

          In the year 2154, the very wealthy live on Elysium, a Stanford torus high-tech space station governed by President Patel (Faran Tahir), in a utopian setting which includes access to private medical machines that offer instant cures, while everyone else lives below on the overpopulated, ruined, "Third World slum" Earth has become. Those who maintain Elysium will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve their citizens' lifestyle, even destroying ships that attempt to get there.

          After an industrial accident leaves him with a cancer, 36-year-old factory-worker and ex-con Max DeCosta (Matt Damon) has only five days to get from Los Angeles to Elysium in order to be cured. Max straps into a powerful exoskeleton and attempts to kidnap a rich businessman (William Fichtner) in order to steal his identity and hijack his way into Elysium. This pits him against Elysium’s Secretary Delacourt (Jodie Foster) and her violent secret police forces, led by Agent Kruger (Sharlto Copley).

           This movie will make this summer hotter and more exciting with famous actor Matt Damon and actress  Jodie Foster.You can watch the trailer at here

PACIFIC RIM

          A very well-known movie of this summer is “Pacific Rim”. Everyone who loves science fiction films will love that for sure. Pacific Rim is a 2013 American science fiction film directed by Guillermo del Toro, written by del Toro and Travis Beacham, and starring Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Robert Kazinsky, Max Martini, and Ron Perlman.

          The film is set in the 2020s, when Earth is under attack by Kaijus, colossal monsters which have emerged from an interdimensional portal on the floor of the Pacific Ocean. To combat the monsters, humanity unites to create the Jaegers: gigantic humanoid mecha, each controlled by two pilots whose minds are joined by a neural bridge. Focusing on the war's later days, the story follows Raleigh Becket, a washed-up Jaeger pilot called out of retirement and teamed with rookie pilot Mako Mori in a last-ditch effort to defeat the Kaijus.

 The Pacific Rim reminds me to the series of film : “Power Ranger”, which has 5 brothers who fight monsters to protect the earth from evil. They also have a very enormous mecha to defeat last and enormous form of the monster. However, the mecha in power ranger seems to be less practical than the one in Pacific Rim.

         You should watch Pacific Rim and feel it. The creation of the mecha and the meeting with gigantic aliens. This film gonna make this summer hotter and more lively!
